Royal Mail Price Rise 6th April 2010

OVERVIEW OF THE CHANGES BY PRODUCT

All prices quoted are for the Basic weight step 0-100g unless otherwise stated

PUBLIC TARIFF

  • 1st Class stamp prices will increase by 2p for Letters to 41p, by 5p for Large Letters to 66p and by 11p for Packets to 139p.
  • 2nd Class stamp prices will increase by 2p for Letters to 32p, by 4p for Large Letters to 51p and by 9p for Packets to 117p.
  • 1st Class stamp Packet prices between 1kg and 2kg are increasing by between 0.8 and 1.1%. Prices above 2kg are not changing.
  • Standard Parcel prices are not changing.

UNSORTED ACCOUNT/METER MAIL

  • 1st and 2nd class meter/account prices are not changing.

MAILSORT

  • Mailsort 3 letter prices, which reduced by between 2.8% to 3.3% in October 2009, generally remain unchanged.
  • MS1 1400 prices for direct letters remain unchanged (residue increase by 1.1%) and prices for MS2 1400 direct letters increase by 1% (residue increases by 2.1%).
  • MS1 1400 and MS2 1400 prices for large letters and packets remain unchanged.
  • MS3 1400 large letter and packet prices increase by 1.8% to 2% for all weight steps.
  • A3 packet prices across all Mailsort 1400 services will increase between 4.1% & 4.2%.
  • Mailsort customers who are able to present their mailings as per one of the Sustainable Mail specifications will continue to benefit from prices that are 1.05% to 4.7% lower than the equivalent Mailsort product.
