Royal Mail Mailsort Database Changes
Database Changes
The Royal Mail has just announced that there will be an updated Mailsort Database (Database 2007) from 23rd July 2007. It will be a major change - replacing Mailsort Database (version 2005).
This means that to continue receiving the benefits of the Royal Mailbulk mail services and the postage discounts that these bring, the updated Mailsort Database (Database 2007) must be used from 23rd July 2007 for all Mailsort and Presstream mailings.
Failure to do so will mean that your postage costs will be charged at the Standard Tariff Letter rate.
To give you time to prepare, the updated Mailsort Database 2007 will be available for download from 23rd April 2007 at www.mailsorttechnical.com
WalksortŪ Customers
The Mailsort Database 2007 will also affect the Walksort Database. If you use the Royal Mail Walksort service then you will continue to receive your regular updates as normal. On 23rd July 2007 the Walksort Database will be updated (release DB2007.1a) and from this date, all previous versions will become obsolete.
Changes to Un-bagged Bulk Mailings
From the 15th of March you will now be able to use the un-bagged option for a wider variety of bulk mailings. Additionally, in response to feedback from customers, we have also clarified a number of areas that were previously unclear.
